Technology Adaption is Not an Option...It's Imperative!
Technology adaption is an imperative for all professionals. The more forward-thinking you are, the more easily you will adapt new technology into your business, often giving you a competitive advantage.
So why do so many of us, especially in their 40s and older, shy away from new innovations more quickly than other change we see in business?
With the emergence of AI and shift towards hybrid/remote work, adaption is becoming more and more essential. People can be categorized into those embracing new technology and those who prefer the status quo until they’re forced to. Where do you fall?
Coming from the technology sector, I have seen a growing gap in how people embrace technology. There is a perception of a generational gap in adaption; however, there are a number of limiting beliefs that need to be challenged. For example, younger employees are not always more tech savvy and older employees may be ahead of the curve. I have seen firsthand that this is often not the case.
Change is hard, so it’s understandable to be fearful of technology changes. The rate of innovation is increasing, so it’s imperative to adapt. Don’t be left behind!
According to a study by KPMG, 3 in 5 people are wary about trusting AI systems. Yet we know AI is here to stay and will be integrated more and more into our professional and personal lives. Now is the time to shift your mindset and be more proactive in embracing technology.
Technology adaption presents a huge opportunity in multiple ways. It may provide a competitive advantage given how many people will wait until they have to make changes. Additionally, it will allow for significant benefits to businesses ranging from working more efficiently to allowing for more integrated team collaboration.
How will you shift your mindset and culture to embrace emerging technology? I would love to hear from you.
